Catalyst
Collaboration, Accountability, and Expert Feedback
Catalyst version 2.0 is here! The re-imagined program is back to help writers grow creatively and take their skills and projects to the next level. Catalyst is now more accessible and allows for additional engagement from our community and members.
Sheryl Anderson, the showrunner of Sweet Magnolias (Netflix), continues to lead the Catalyst Program for The Greenhouse, along with writer/producer Anthony Epling (Sweet Magnolias, Suits, Beauty & the Beast), and other industry coaches. Catalyst was created with the goal of providing high-quality feedback, recommendations, and input for creatives.
After re-assessing the needs of The Greenhouse community and considering member suggestions, we have re-engineered the structure of Catalyst. The new approach provides ample opportunity for feedback from industry professionals on your screenplays.
Catalyst is now connected with The Greenhouse’s Spotlight Workshops on a ‘points’ basis. Points can then be exchanged for one-on-one feedback sessions from Sheryl Anderson and our other industry coaches!
How the new Catalyst Program works:
For every scheduled hour of Spotlight Workshops you attend, you get a point. For example, a three-hour workshop gets you three points. (Sorry, no extra points for hanging out and chatting after workshops – but still do that, because it’s fun and a great way to connect with members!).
As you collect points, you can use them to schedule time with Sheryl Anderson and our other industry coaches to get feedback on your work. It’s that easy!
For any in-person events, there will be a limited number of points available for volunteering to help with setting up or striking. Just register for the event and then email us to see about those points, which will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
We’ve done away with the genre groups and there is no longer any application process for Catalyst. Everyone is welcome – although you must have an up-to-date Greenhouse Membership in order to participate in the points program.
If you’re not a member, you can still pay for feedback from our industry coaches like before. However, membership makes it so much easier! Plus, members get discounts on the Spotlight Workshops too (as well as a bunch of other benefits). So membership is a great way to get your continuing professional education from industry pros and build up points to get feedback.
